hi

the servo is dead, it is under warranty and will be changed .. but if it died after two weeks .. it will die again soon.

what is the torque needed for the savage octane XL ?

also, i want to upgrade the batteris to LiPo 2 cells .. is it a good idea ?
i think the CDI system can handle it. but not sure about the rx and servos ..

what do you guys think ?

thanks.

You'll want to get something with atleast 200 oz/in for a steering servo. You could go 2s, but I'm not sure I see the benefit. Yes you may get more time per battery pack due to capacity, but you won't get more power. Unless you spec a different type of servo, most of this size are rated for 6V max. As it is I get many runs out of my 1600mAh hump pack. Do you already have a hump pack? if not, that would be the recommended upgrade.

Yes sir.
Niw i get it. So. A bigger single pack insteed of two smaller ones ?

I now get 3.5 to 4 tanks on the packs i have.

And actually .. It kind'a enough for one day .. Since i usually also fly a little too ..

So i will wait with that.

Thanks .

I'm getting 4 tanks per charge of my 1600 mAh NiMH pack. The best value steering servo I've found is Tower's TS-170. Around 300 oz-in at 6V it claims. I have one in my Savage and in my Agama A215. I like them. I've gotten good service from a TP-610C charger I've had for years.
