Maybe a stupid question. I am new to this and I don't know all the differences between the models. I have searched a little but haven't found the answer.

Will a tranny from an SS bolt into an X?

Any other relevant info will be appreciated.

should bolt right in.... use the ss brake kit tho, the fiber one kinda sucks....

Jam, which brakes come with the SS and which fiber ones are you talkin about, the dual red fiber? The dual red fiber brakes are the current ones I'm usin and haven't had any problems. I've had all kinds of problems with the dual stainless steel brakes though. Just my thoughts on the matter.

And yes doginjeep, the tranny will swap right in like Jam said.

The main difference you will run into is that the X case splits for easier access to (some of) the gears while still in the chassis. The SS case is solid I believe. If I were you, assuming your stock X case is in good condition, I would swap just the new gears from your SS tranny into your X case.

Yup, the red fiber disc sucks, my kid busted his in half on the 3rd time out with it... I am usin the dual stainless ones, so far no problem with it......I do believe it needs a skid plate under the trans next to keep stuff from gettin in there tho.....

Oh ok. I always had a problem with the pads coming off the "caliper" plates. I tried everything I could think of to keep them from coming off. But, everybody prefers what works best for them and all we can do is give our suggestions.

That's the issue I've always heard about as well. But Honestly I've had the SS brakes for years with out issue. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Wow. Thanks for the support guys. It's nice to have great input like this.
