I was wondering if anyone could tell me a more reliable way to get the spur gear mesh right , than the paper spip thing i did that ind it still stripped the first time i went out. And how to properly do the paper thing lol.
Thanks....
I just gently slide the engine to the spur so the bell and spur are together, make sure the engine is square to the truck (poor alignment can kill spurs just like poor mesh can), tighten the screws, and then hold the bell still while rotating the spur. There should just be a tiny amount of free play before you hear the "click" of the teeth hitting. If there's no free play, it's too tight. If there's more than about a millimeter of spur rotation, it's probably too loose. Then loctite the screws one at a time and recheck the mesh.
