spur gears

well, my gear mesh is usually set right
and then after a few days, it must screw up and then i loose a spur gear
do u guys ever have to change out your spur gears?

yea i went through 2 in 1 day. its was because of a cracked engine plate. also make sure you lock tite you screws in it will stop the engine from moving around.

i have a metal spur gear and have had it for about a year now with no problems. but i would learn how to mesh your spur gear with a plastic one so if you get it wrong it will only strip the spur but with a metal one it may do alot more damage! ( i hope you get what i mean)

yeah, if uve got a metal one, the damage will just travel on to a different part, and wreck that

i spend a while on my geting my mesh and slipper clutch right so hopefully that will not happen!!

i had the same problem, check out that thread i started, the guys there helped me out alot. I ended up putting a vented clutch bell on and replaced the clutch bell bearings. After that I haven't eaten a spur yet.

i cant seem to stop my steel spur gear from wearing quickly. I might have to end up going with a combo

i think it might be a little bit to loose i have a bit of play between the gears
