I have recently converted my hpi savage 25 to a dual electric motor setup (truck in my profile picture) and I'm having some problems with the spur gear.

It's fine going forwards however when I brake hard or reverse the nut on the gear comes loose. Then the motors just spin

Is there a way to lock this nut or a part I can buy?

Any help appreciated.

I would get a new spring, nut and related parts and lock that slipper down, going in reverse is naturally going to loosen the nut up....

If you don't care about the slipper clutch then you could possibly remove the spring and use a jam nut. Unfortunately I think the bolt is too short to use a second nut if you don't remove the spring.

Make sure you have that little washer with the hex center installed. It should go spur gear/washer/spring/nut. That keeps the spur gear from spining the spring and nut when it slips.
