First i was wondering if the big plastic gear is the spur gear?Anyways the big plastic gear is missing 2 teeth.I just wanna know why it's happening before i go out and buy another one.I see the pinion gear has a small grove working into the metal as well. The 2 don't line up properly.I can't move the engine in anymore to get the 2 to line up.There's about a mm and a half that the pinion has to come in.Can anyone help

I had the same thing, Lots of tourqe thats it! I bought a Steel on and only broke off 1 tooth becuase I landed on a firehydrent.

If you are breaking off teeth it's most likely because you mesh between your Spur Gear and Clutch Bell is to lose. What you need to do is get a piece of paper (I use printer paper because I find it works the best). The put the paper in between the Spur Gear and Clutch Bell and loosen the Motor Mount Screws from underneath the truck. Push the motor towards the spur gear as much as possible and tighten the Motor Mount screws. Pull the piece of paper out and hold the clutch bell and move the Spur gear. There should just be a little wiggle movement.

Harrington81- Yes thats called a spur-the larger plastic one and what drives it is called a clutch bell or c/b.
If its breaking teeth it sounds like it is too loose and if c/b gas a groove I'd say replace both as a set.
You can put shims behind the flywheel to move c/b forward for better alignment but if it needs to go back you would have to get a Nova adjustable motor mount.
Let us know how you do on this.
