Hello Everyone,

I recently got my first Nitro Rc car a couple of weeks ago, the Savage X 4.6 Big Block. Of course i was hooked instantly on this.

Anyways, the stock spur gear was stripped a couple of days ago. So i'm looking to get a new one. I was looking on HPI's website and i saw this one http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/86806/

The spur gear on the car is also a 47t, but it's plastic.

I also read that if i put that spur gear on that i have to change the racing clutch bell.

Remember guys, this is my first Nitro RC car so i am just learning about this stuff.

How good is that steel spur gear and is it worth the price? Is there anything else you would recommend?

I saw like 8 different kinds of racing clutch bells, ranging from 13t to 20t. What is the difference? Which is is better? The one on my car now is 17t

Will i see any significant performance change by putting on the steel spur gear and the new racing clutch bell?

Thanks,

You are best to stay with the plastic one. They are a great cheap weak point. I typically run my slipper tight as well.

The difference it teeth is the less teeth you have the more torque to wheels you will have but will loose speed and vise versa for more teeth.
