Are you running a steel spur gear? If so you need a hardened clutch bell.

Yep, figured it was my new steel spur. Ah, time for a new CB. lol.

Ouch, I guess now I know why I run a plastic spur.

Not sure on the CB you plan to get for your metal spur but I used a Golden Horizon steel spur and the HPI HD clutch bell and it ate it up with a few tanks.....i would suggest something harder or stay plastic.....

I always liked metal at the time I was messing the plastic ones up but so far with 6 1/2 gallons I have only messed one spur up, and that was because I bent motor plate.

I have no abnormal wear that I can see, but is that going to happen to me? I mean I bought it as a kit and I'm using both pieces, so would the CB be hard enough? :Xfingers:

The Robinson racing combo will last you forever as long as you keep the mesh right, RR products are tough.

i have had that happen to me twice.... both times it was because of a cracked motor plate!!

Yeah, RR stuff is costly.

Big worm, I have FLM stuff, so I really doubt its cracked, but I did have a screw missing, so that may very well be the problem I had also.
