Hallo.

I'm 42 but have my first savage. Seen them for years ago but nog i have an old ss 4.6 sinds cristmass.

I fixed alot on the truck but stripped the glow plug thread with my fingers 🤷‍♂️

Engine has marks, scratches in the cilinder and the carburateur rubbers are torn.

My question is. Should i get an lrp28 of 32?

Next question. Wil my rotostart backplate fit it?

What do i need to make the wheel hex 17mm. I cant figure it out. Do i need new c cups? Or is it just the hex en pin that i need?

I upgraded the steering servo sf1 to a 35kg servo.

Got a new radiolink rc6gs

Also added some lights. Got a new 1600mah hump pack but made 2 aa packs on the shock towers. 4100 mah instead 1600.

Hi bud and firstly welcome to the mad house. As for the 17mm hexs you could just with the 17mm wheel hexs from HPi to get you going, or change to 17mm adaptors, as for the rotostart most are 27mm across the fixing diagonally so the one from an HPI will fit most mills.

17mm Hexs witjh larger flange nuts

These utilisze the orgininal axles, the lock nut is put on backwards to support the hub at the end of the axle.

This type comes with a non threaded axle and is best if you bash alot.

As for what mill, well i have tried neither of them so sorry can't comment on that one, I do have HPI S25s, HPI F4.6s both K & F series HPI 5.9s again both K & F series, a Force F4.6, a Force F5.2 and a Thunder Tiger Pro28. I have to say I like the F4.6 Force & HPI as both made by Force. The R32(5.2cc) Force has not been started or run yet so no comment there. Have heard the LRP both .28 & .32 are better than the F series mills but you are inclined to get what you pay here. The Force mills are great value for money.
Upgrading the steering servo is a must in these trucks but the Sf-1 was meant for the throttle/brake and the SF-2 was for the steering although still very under powered.

Orderd this cheap servo for my steering. The 30kg servo goes to the throttle.

It came with 2 sf1 servos for steering and throttle.

Will the roll cage fit my old ss4.6?

Would a f4.6 head fit on my old k4.6 engine?

Who's gonna know 🤷‍♂️
Ok so the answer is no it wont fit. Have just measured both heads diagonally across the head bolts and they are different. The K4.6 head bolts are 29mm across and the F4.6 are 30mm, plus the K4.6 does not have an underhead as this is part of the cooling head.

F4.6 cooling head. Distance across head bolts=30mm

Got a new Force .36 engine for 2 days. All fine and nice but the damn pullstarter broke twice.

I have a roto start but the ons way bearing on the engine is 12mm and the roto is 11mm.

Anyone knows wat the problem is? The old k4.6 bearing is diffent to.

The K series engines like your K4.6 had 11mm starter shafts with the OWB inside the engine. which is why you have an 11mm roto start plate. Most engines now use a 12 or 14mm OWB. So you will need to purchase a 12mm Roto start unit.
