Soft case lipos ok to use?

I guess it's ok to use since it will be surrounded by foam inside the battery tray. Anyone use them with no problems?

yes. i completely wrapped mine in 4" velcro so that no part of the case is visible. you could also use duct tape.


the reason is that if the case gets dented, it can cause damage to the cells which could lead to breakdown and fire.

Don't do it, personally. I have killed 4 perfectly good LiPo's this way - even with strapping tape, and padding. Not worth the risk in my opinion considering your truck could burst into flames...

been running soft case packs for almost a year. No troubles yet.

I have been running a set of 8000mah SMC for more than 2 years, not heavy bashing but racing and running around the house. I have never had a problem.
