ive just fitted a new 18t clutch bell and 47t spur to my s25 to try and keep up with my mates 4.6 powered sav, everything went well until mty first run. when i apply throttle the truck moves, and moves quite fast but its revving up like it should be going faster and after a run up and down the road the clutch bell is getting very hot (it burns if you touch it). ive checked the slipper clutch its nipped tight. any ideas that will get me up and running again?

you may need new shoes and springs

That would be my bet. When was the last time you replaced them? You could try scuffing the clutch shoes with some sand paper to help them bite harder, also make sure that they are clean and does not have any oil or dirt on them.

cheers for your advice, gunna strip down and clean up the clutch bell and shoes and see how i get on.

if its sthe stock carbon setup that geering is too tall for the shoes, or at least it was for me. when i ran a 18/47 with carbon shoes they slipped real bad and got eaten up, move to alum shoes and ur clutch wont slip as bad on taller gearing

Cheers Again For You Advice, Ive Since Fitted So Ali Shoes And The Clutch Still Slips Ao I'm Gunna Try 15/47 And See What Happens. If Its Still No Better Will Go Back To Standard.

15/47 is too low for ya IMO

I'm running 17/47 rite now

17/49 with the bell you have> theres a bell/spur chart somewhere i don't know how to drag it. just gotta look. pineapp. might of been on to it.
you did put new shoes in ? tighten the spur ck thr pads agian. its gotta be a simple fix.

I'm wondering if I am having the same problem... I give it gas all the way down the it goes and then stumbles. Almost as if the brakes are being tapped when I am driving....? Weird. I ordered the HPI Aluminum Clutch Shoes and springs and will be installing them tomorrow. Hopefully that is the problem.

it sounds more like a tuning problem, running to lean on ya high speed needle try richening the high speed 1/4 of a turn. if not return to base setting and start tunign again.
