EDIT: Sorry, just noticed that I have posted this in the wrong section! Feel free to move it =)

Hi Guys,

I passed this step in the build on Tuesday night, however reading on in the guide it says that the spur gear should slip when firm pressure is applied. If the clutch is too tight it may cause damage to the drive train.

Here is a copy of what it says in the manual.

I have done what it says here (tighten all the way, then loosen half turn) but I can not get spur gear to slip.

When it says firm pressure, does it mean putting it in a vice?! lol

Thanks in advance for your replies =)

Yeah its hard to make it slip by hand. But what I and most do anyways is to tighten that nut all the way down. Just try not to land at full throttle. Even if you do that clutch will still slip like it's supposed to.

ya mines tightened right down so it gives you instant throttle response but still does its job!!!

When you say tightened right down, you mean by holding the spur gear with one hand and tightening the locking nut as tight as it will physically go (compressing the spring all the way so there is no gaps)?

well mines tightened until it gets really hard to turn, maybe thats not totally tight but pretty close

Altighty, thanks for the confirmation guys! I will adjust mine so it is as tight as I can get it tonight.

Fitted the shocks last night, so now the engine work.. fun times!!

Yeah tight as the spring will allow (bottomed out tight).
Have fun with the build and show us pics and keep us updated!
