anyone got any ideas how to make the car run quieter? when i broke in my last engine, i did the old bench break in with it mounted in a vice and fuel line hooked up to a bottle etc. the exhaust was attached but was noisy as buggery so i got about 3 meters spare garden hose and it fitted snugly over the exhaust down pipe, i then ran the hose under garage door out the front where i was astonished to find that the only noise was a quiet pop pop pop from the pipe.. VERY QUIET! the engine noise in garage was not loud at all either and quiet similar to the noise of a battery operated drill.

now I know that i cant run 3 meters of hose behind the car... but what would 30 cm (foot) of pipe trailing to the back of the car from exhaust do to performance? especially bashing the front yard where neighbours get their hackles up.

anyone know any other ways of reducing noise?

I have the HPI aluminium tuned pipe and a 4.1 hpi stock engine

all I know is that u have to have a certin amount of back pressure I don't know if that will work all that good (might melt and not much back pressure)
all U want your pipe to get hot it helps your engine run more efficent....how much have u ran he engine after break in ?

I have fitted clear silcon hose over the pipe stinger and ran it to the back of the truck. I didnt have any run issues and it was little more quieter not alot. Only thing you have to watch is the oil puddle in the exhaust line, as long as you don't make a huge trap (like a sink drain) it should empty itself when you do jumps or wheelies.

have in mind that anything you add on to the end of your exhaust will alter the performance of your truck!
