Hi js.. I am new here too. I guess you could buy some spares to repair any breakages... but after 4 weeks of playing with my savvy I have broken everything from my fuel tank to my shocks. Unless you have a load of money to throw at your new hobby I would consider saving the money your planning on spending on stock spares and buy some decent upgrades in the future.

If you break something then if your lucky your LHS might stock the part for you, or depending on where you live you could buy online and have the part the next day!

I loved every minute building my savvy, it makes it so much easier to fix it when something goes wrong.. and usually every time I use it, something does!

Depending on how much you plan on using it, unfortunatly for me it is weekends and holidays (until the nights get lighter) if your only bashing at weekends then you can get your parts in the week and have it all ready for next weekend.

The only spares I have at the moment is a glow plug a few screws.. oh and some shock oil, threadlock and diff grease. I am saving up, well holding out a little for some decent alloy (grade 6061-T6 or 7075-T6).

I am the guys will be able to help you with any questions you may have, they have been really helpful to me =)

Lol it was a Caboose at the local park. Think his reciever batteries got weak. He had no brakes and steering wasn't good. It was almost a full speed impact into the rail it was sitting on. we're hoping under 30 for parts. Mine is the red one all taken apart. All thats wrong with it is the spur gear. But I need to reset lash. so took engine off too. Crash helped with my engine problem earlier. Thanks Crash. Let ya know tomorrow if that was indeed the culprit. Freaks is steering and suspension damage to right front. But his aluminum shock towers he installed last night look good lol

good luck on the repairs.

I broke my savage 21 in halph on my firsy day of owning it. hit a tall curb at full tilt.

ya just made Freak feel better Crash lol. Do you know roughly what a steering crank / servo saver and upper control arm will cost ? thats all he done. Needs new batteries too :-X

Dude, sounds like u had a great time. But isn't the point of bashing is to break stuff so u can buy new and improved parts? ha ha

as for the antenna, i normally keep mine tucked underneath the body... it may decrease range a little bit but i haven't really had any problems with range and by keeping it tucked it i definatly haven't had any antenna damage

hey wildman,

my roto broke in the first month. I fixed it and it broke again a month later

I now only use a battery drill with a clutch to protect the mill.

how did this happen?? is anything else dammaged other than the frame? I would take them off and try and straighten them out.. try any get a few more bashes out of them =)

Was a step ahead of ya there Crash lol. I had my cordless drill battery charging. Just not sure this cheap drill will turn fast enough. Least I haven't bent the frame yet. Key word is yet. But soon as I get the rest of the bugs woked out. I'm sure it will happen. Glad ya got yours fixed Crash. Since I have a few problems with mine. I was nice and gave Freak my steering parts for now. The new ones be in tomorrow. I'll just put the new pieces on mine 🙂.

if you call hpi they will send you a new one . They might ask you to send your broken one to see if they can fix it . That's what I did and recived a roto 2 back

I hit a tree.

tvp are cheap enough to replace, and I had an old set laying around
the shop.

damage report:

tvp's
radiobox
servo
skidplate
bumper
transmission case
spur gear

all parts had to be replaced all the plastic parts craked, it was about 28 degrees out so things are brittle at 45 mph crash.
