hey guys i haven't been around much posting but still lurking in the shadows. anyways, i found a lil time to work on the truck and its down to the linkage hook ups, then i should be mobile. My question is this. i have a different style motor mount i acquired from another purchase so i mounted my picco in it. it fits the flm motor plate fine but when it came time to mount my throttle servo on the inside TVP (FLM's as well) it would fit. the mount is in the way so i was just curious if its a big deal to mount the servo on the outside. the linkages might have a few more bends but other then the obvious of the servo being exposed to a rougher life is there any downfalls? should i just order a new flm motor mount and wait, or go ahead with construction and hope for the best? thanks in advance. and if there any other suggestions I'm open to them so please any input. (*note i don't have an extra std mount otherwise id just switch it)

heres the mount btw.

ya I'm not looking forward to that. i got lots of linkage parts kicking around so i should be able to mock something up like banks better throttle mod. i just want to get some input if this is an ok place to leave the servo. i know its a little unorthodox but i don't want to wait the 2 to 3 week waiting period for shipping.

i think it will work fine. you can mount it the exact same as we do with the flm tvps, leave your linkages the same & flip the servo arm around. then just throw the reverse switch on your Tx

you could trim the mount till your servo would fit. std (standard) if you need a stock mount shoot me a pm i have a couple of them lying around ill send one to ya.

eric...

i have the throttle brake servo mounted to the outside of the tvps on the sidewinder and have had no issues with it. like frddy said just flip the ofna mod servo horn so its the other way. side note i have 2 layers of aluminum tape on the servo to help protect it from the roost off the front tire

good tip there mickey. ill make some type of shield for it. thanks for the help guys ill let you know how it turns out when i get some free tinker time again.

hey folks. i took a crack at the linkages tonight. thought id throw some pics up. one thing I'm not happy is the bend in the rod for the brakes but i was unsure of how to run it other wise. I'm open to any criticism and always looking to improve so please by all means throw your input in. heres the pics my girlfriend has the camera as always so there off the old celliophone so sorry about that.

trucks nearly completion so that has me excited. its just like all the rest it seems but a few individualistic touches here and there. let me know what you guys think of the linkage and throw your two pennies in on the shiny thing too.

Nice Truck! I'd like to do the same type of set-up on my XL. But the linkage issue is something I'll just have use trial and error for. I haven't taken apart my servos as of yet so it will be new for me. Good luck with yours.

you betcha. figured id give them a try. hope for the best. they look so damn beefy:getdown: thanks for the words guys.
