like on the super chargers how the rubber band on the CB turns the fan on it.
could you do somin like that but turn a small generator or somin to chargwe a battery on your truck to run servos and stuff?
i know u cant use stok batteries cuz u cant charge them while on but theres probly some batteries small enough that can.
not good with electronics so idk just thought it mite be kewl to take the charging out of nitro all together as that is the point of a nitro vehicle.

While thats a good thought in theory I don't think it's practical-It will take horsepower to run a belt and generator and with only 3 HP to begin with I don't think it would be worth it. Unlike a supercharger where you get some return in HP.

tryed making this a while back kinda hard to make a small generator but i thought of this idea back in like 03 🙂

I've pondered this before as well. Wouldn't it be sweet to use an outside source to get the Savy running and then she'd support herself! Never have seen someone attempt this before let alone succede. This may be one of the "Holy Grails".

Thing is you will need the battery anyway so you might as well charge it and have more power to the wheels. The generator won't be that efficient as the revs of the nitro engine varies so much.

The only way I could see this happen is to use a generator for bicycle head lamps but they put out around 12 volts. you would have to rig up a regulator circuit to step the juice down and give the system the capacity to charge a battery. Every one if right about the fact that it will draw power away from the engine so I have thought about running it from the spur gear to alleviate the strain on the engine by gearing it that way. I don't think that we are all going to sit for long period idling and not moving so it in theory should work.
