I recently grenaded the front pinion gear on my diff.... the culprit hpi! 🙁 The diffs did not have the correct amount of shims between the diff cup and bearing, as well the crown gear and bearing. In the manual it clearly show's two shims. When I disassembled the diffs I only found one shim on either side. Shame on hpi, who is in charge of quality control?, or is this a deliberate tactic made to fail so us the consumer has to replace/upgrade. I thought it was bogus because it was my first time going off jumps with it, and I'm not new to jumping. And for the diff to fail so soon I was surprised.
Any ways a word of advice... open up those diffs even if the truck is brand new, and verify it was built properly it will save you money and time in the long run if you find and correct this problem.:stickspank:
