Hey guys here is a video from the Octane carburetor supplier Walbro explaining the function of the carb. From what I understand they say you don't have to run the carb dry unless it will be stored . I think this will be a good reference guide for when we need to rebuild down the line. I think they could also be the suppliers of the tank , fuel lines, and ignition because they do mass produce them for their customers but I could be wrong.

Well that may be you can leave fuel in the thing overnight or for a day or 2, but any longer and you run the risk of fuel evaporation and the resulting oil residue clogging the tiny little passages in the carburetor. do as you please MarQ, but I take good care of my equipment and am rewarded with good performance time after time.....
I worked at a rental yard years back I repaired all the small and large equipment and am very familiar with just exactly how these carburetors work and the problems associated with leaving fuel in the system for longer than a few days at a time....

So would you say that leaving fuel in a day or two in the carb isn't long enough to dry up the oil ? Or do you personally run it dry each and every time you run it? I also baby my Octane and want to have the best information to make this thing last.

Personally I run all my nitro vehicles dry till they will not fire and run , I do the same for my weedeater which uses a walbro carburetor.... they say 6 weeks in the video, but I prefer to run them dry as a bone and put in fresh fuel every time, I do not have an octane or any 1/5 fuel powered vehicles, but would do the same with it if i were to have one.......
