So, was heading out for my afternoon bash today after installing my new clutch. Got the truck all ready to fire up, turned on the switch on the truck, and smoke started coming from under the cover. Me and buddy quickly opened it up, and the hump pack was on fire. We got that put out no problem, not much damage was done at all, just need a new hump pack and a new switch, but man was that kinda scary! Sure didn't wanna see my truck go up in smoke!

Any ideas what could have caused it? Its a pretty new hump pack, there isn't even a gallon run through the truck yet!!

it must have shorted somehow. thats the only explanation i can come up with.
i know what your saying tho, had that happen to a 'no name' battery i got, replaced with a hpi 1200, never had a problem

this happend to me truck came back on smokin so turned her off and the 2 wires ahad worn down and they where glowing so i throgh electric tape on it now it is all good

being that the radio box is so tight it is very possible you may have pinched the wires exposing them to each other causing a point where they contacted each other
