Guys & Gals,

I purchased the savage 3 speed kit that you assemble yourself, the question that i have is why does the three speed transmission case have three adjustment holes on the outside.

Is it so you can rotate or lock that additional gear when adjusting, becuase only the second gear is adjustable, is that right?

Excuse my newbieness. (If thats even a word)

Thanks,

Gavin

Not sure why hpi put the 3 holes in the case. I can only assume it was intended to be adjusted from outside but never happened. But to answer your question both gears can be adjusted. Second to third gear is done from the outside and first to second is done from the inside. You must take apart top end of tranny to do this.

I'm not sure if you have an X, but the trans case from an X is the best thing you can have with a 3 speed. In the X trans case the top portion comes out with just a few screws instead of taking apart the whole truck to do the adjustment for 1-2 shifts.
