Savage 21 Goes a Meter Then Stops

Heyy Ya'll...
Soo ivv jus brought a savage 21 second hand but theres a lil summin wrong wif it??
It starts fine, Revs fine etc butttt when i accelerate and it goes past a meter away from mee it doesnt pik up and signal??? .. i rung the ol boi up who sold it 2 me and he sed it summin 2 do wif the Fail Safe??? I'm new to all this techno.. used 2 hav on-road car last year and no where near as much hassle as off road lol..

Please cud sum1 help mee?

First thing I would do is put new batteries in the radio and truck, If the problem is still there remove the fail safe (between the throtle/brake servo-receiver) then drive the truck again to make sure the failsafe is not playing up. 😱)

So jus remove the fail safe link from the reciver? ... e.g take the fail safe off and connect the red white n blck cable straight into where fail safe was??

soz I'm new to this repairing..my last car i had no problems thru out the time i was using it....So yeh if its kl for u 2 explain 2 me in the terms i wud understand that wud be much thank ful !

Thats right, then you will know if it is the fail safe that is causing the problem..where abouts in England you from bud?

There is no light on the fail safe wen plugged in.. removed it.. still no throttle response at all ?? Cambridge-England m8 .

First Welcome to the forum!!

Second, check both your receiver batterites and TX batteries and make sure they are fresh. If the batteries are good, does the steering servo work normally? If so you may have a bad throttle servo.

Oh ok fair enough. Sorrry lol.. Anyway i have the throttle and steering under control now just 1 more problem when i go to open her up she rallys then cuts out.? if i was to jus gently drive her around she fine. I'm going to play with the screw when glow start charged 2 see if i can play around with it

Is this the first time you got it going?

if so it may need some tuning. check your needles
