I have a racing suspension conversion on both my savage and my sons savage. Until today, I was running XL axles and didn't have any problems. I just got my 17mm hex conversion today (thanks mega) and it comes with the reg length axles. When I went to re-install the tires, I noticed the plastic end of the turnbuckle was rubbing the inner edge of the rim. I looked at my sons truck, and his truck is having the same problem of the inner edge of the rim rubbing the turnbuckle. Has anyone seen this before and if so what did you do to fix it. Thanks in advance!

Here is a vid and a pic, not the greatest since it was a difficult angle and I stink at picture taking...

They must be wider than the stock plastic piece. Seems you have it all assembled correctly. Offset wheels will solve your problem thought.

I did have this happen with one warlock rim on the front right. Is it both sides on yours? I know my proline standard offsets don't rub. Ill mount up some warlocks today and recheck it to see if it is that rim style.

Offsets would take care of the problem, but buying a new set of rims dues to a design problem should not be the answer in my opinion, but I do not have many options..lol. I think I am going to trim the turnbuckle to clear the tire.

Bank, on my setup it is the right front wheel with the problem, left front is not as bad, just barely rubs. On my osns truck, both ends rub hard. He has the lundsford turnbuckles on his truck and both front tires rub very bad. I will post a pic tonight of how his are.

Iput it in the other mounting postion last night, and just looking at it, it does not look if the turnbuckles will shorten up that much, but I will try tonight.

been there did that no go ...

this may sound stupid, but is it a kit for a XL? if it is, maybe it has a different angle because they have more room witht he extended axles?

Not a stupid one.. but every thing X as far as stuff like that works on XL. but same as offsets with the XL axles

Found the problem. It turns out the arm for the steering spindle was slightly bent upwards. It would have been difficult to notice, but I compared it to my sons and the bend was easy to spot. As far as my sons rcs rubbing on his truck, that was an issue with him running his rims from his first nitro RC he bought from a HPI copmpetitor(will not say the name but i am sure you can guess..lol). thanks to eveyrone who answered up and a special thanks to frddy who pointed me in the right direction about the spindle possibly being bent.
