Hello!

Since I've managed to bent 3 hpi aluminium shocks (i'm running now with the stockers), I want a big change.

So, I think to order some RPM A-Arms (front and rear), the big bore set and the suspension conversion.

Naturally, as I'm new in rc, I have some questions for you guys. Hope you don't mind.

1. Will all these fit together? And if the answer is yes, here comes the other ones:

2. I will follow The Judge's topic about install and, since the suspension conversion set uses adjustable upper control arms, I will need to do what The Judge did here, right?: http://hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7128

3. How difficult is to change the A-Arms? What do I need to take apart from the truck?

4. Again, how difficult is to put in the suspension conversion set?

5. If all fit, do I need to order anything else to put them together?

Thanks a lot! If all is ok and you say it all works, hope to order parts soon.

It all fits and you do not need alloy shock towers if that's what you meant by Greg's old thread. Its not to hard to install at all comes with directions and you need to mod a few parts. All in the directions and easy to follow. I don't thin the RPM arms are needed but if that what you want go for it!

Thanks. I was reffering to the mod to stop BB's springs rubbing against the adjustable upper control arms in that topic.

BTW. There is a big difference in terms of stability, control between the HPI Adjustable Upper Arm Set Savage and the savage conversion set, right? I mean, I want to go for the conversion set, but the price is a bit too much.

But if you say it worths it ("Brick on wheels"), I'll go for it.

As for the RPMs, I will use only the lower arm, since the conversion set has the adjustable upper arms, right?

Thanks

BTW. I can use the

I'm going to look again at what he did.
I got allot of the guys using hellfire mounts. yea the lowers only(RPM)..
it is worth its price tag for what it does.
I do wish it was in the 80's range it would be a better price for it. I got one for 133 and the 2nd for 60 but the latter was pure luck.Think a noob had it by looking at the upper arms.. No way the truck would have drove right from how I took it out of the box. But that's what forums are for he just sold and never asked what he did wrong. His loss my gain. Looking for 3rd set now to complete my last savage.

Bank, tnaks for your valuable info. Just some minor questions, please.
These Hellfire shock mount standoffs are for the upper part of the shock (on the shock tower).
I see now that Judge's towers were a lot thinner than the stock ones, and I'm planning to use the stock ones. So, now, I realize that I might not need to space the lower mounting point, on the a-arm.
Or I also need to use the hellfire mounts.

As for the slope (as I read in this post: https://www.hpisavageforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=112293&highlight=hellfire+mounts#post112293), I see that I can use some Flux's parts.

PS. Can you post a pic of how are your shocks mounted? Thanks

Ill dig up a pic. Flux parts are plastic Hellfire are steel. big bore are made from the hellfire design. Same shock just longer, all the hellfire shock parts fit BB's. shafts, caps, springs, yada yada. I used the hellfire parts caz I have a hellfire so it was a doner rig when I was trouble shooting. I used them to take out slop from the upper mount. Not for the rub issue. But I don't have a rub issue at this point. So maybe two birds with one stone on this one.
