Hi my husband has changed his 5.9 from roto start to pull start but it's not moving the engine at all. Can anyone help at all please?

Which 5.9 does he have? the one with the one way bearing inside the engine or the one with it outside the engine. There appear to be at least 2 versions of it.

If it's the later one, he could have put the OWB on backwards. It only grabs in one direction, so it will free spin if on backwards and grab if it's on the right way.
If it's the older one, could be the OWB is slipping, a lot.

He also didn't buy a new owb he just brought the pullstart
