I just finished building my first ever RC "Savage X SS 4.6" I had it running to do the break in procedure tried to start it tonight but the roto just spins I read a post about a one way bearing but not sure exactly what or where it is, Help Please!

the one way bearing is under the plastic cover where you put the shaft of the roto start. To get at it you need to pull out the engine by undoing the 4 screws from underneath the truck. Then there are three screws at the back of the engine which hold the plastic cover onto the back of the engine that the roto start goes into. Pull that off and there are 2 gears and a nut shaped thing with some rollers in it. That's the one way. Remember also when putting it back together any screw which goes into metal needs to have loctite on it.

All I have is 2 gears in the plastic housing for the roto the small brass one and the bigger one the fits onto the starting shaft??

The one way is on the back of the crank shaft, the hex nut looking thing. It's in front of the plastic housing, roto start goes over it. I found wiping the crank off and placing the one way back on helps. Note direction of engagement, should turn engine clockwise and spin freely counter clockwise. Were there any metal shavings present when you pulled the roto start off?

Did the motor come with the roto or did you add it? I know that in the instructions it says to grease the gears inside the roto backplate. DO NOT DO IT. The grease will cause the one-way to slip.

Thank You Guys So Much!! I took the one way out and it is in good shape, but greasy!! Cleaned her up inspected it put it back and works great. This is best site on the net!
