I'm no expert and I know this is lost now, but what you should do is buy the SS (standard pre-upgraded parts!) and get a second hand set of radio gear (3 channel) and then you wont have to trash a whole set.

thats what i did and cost wise a cheap 3ch radio system and decent servos plus the price of the xss kit would be close to that of the rtr...
