Refilled my big bores i think i did something wrong? Help

I changed pistons to the 1.6t and went from 30wt to 35 wt in the rear. i wanted to firm it up. It seems its actually softer now. any ideas?

did you change the springs too? the oil only dampens the springrate.
to stiffen it up like you want I think you will need to change springs too

hm. no same springs. I'm pretty sure some of the other guys just changed the oil and pistons and had good results. i don't even know where to get stiffer springs.

the bigger the hole, the easier the fluid travels. for best results, use the small tapered one...with the taper going up.

Make sure you got all the air out after refilling. That will make them spongy.

I let them sit for a while. no bubbles. maybe too much oil came out when i put the caps on. I'm going to change the pistons to the regular 1.6 tonight and refill.

If you go here http://www.hpieurope.com/instructions.php?lang=en and download the instructions for the hellfire ss, there are details on how the tapers should go.

But yes, the 1.6T should be facing up when you fit those pistons

I switched out the tapered pistons for hte regular 1.6 last night. i must have messed up the first fill since they are much better now. still not so sure if i got the results i wanted. May have to just wait for stiffer springs.
Seems it bottoms out when landing from a big jump
