So was driving the savage and the radio seemed to cut out and lose all function. Anyway, was testing it with another receiver, but the plugs were in a different order. So i didn't watch closely enough to notice that. What I did was plug the battery into the servo port and the servo into where the battery would plug into. Would this have shorted the servo? Because that stopped working too.

Welcome to the forum. I used to have two RX-7's, what year/model do you have? For the savage, just make sure your crystals in the Tx/Rx have matching numbers, and that your batteries are charged, then plug everything into the right ports and you should be good to go. I don't know if plugging them into the wrong ports would cause a problem but I doubt it would do anything.

Don't currently have an Rx7, I just use this name for everything. I have a Miata instead, cheaper on gas. Crystals match, but the steering servo melted down inside, but it shows some evidence that it may have got wet inside in the past. I wanted to see if anybody thought what I did caused that, or if the servo shorted and took the receiver out, or vice versa the receiver shorted and took the servo out.

Oh OK, wow sounds like maybe using the wrong plugs may have caused your problems. Electricity does wierd things LOL. If your servo got wet, is it possible that the Rx got wet as well?

This is actually a friends truck, he blamed me for the servo and I am trying to figure out if what I did would cause that. It hasn't been wet recently that I know of, and it was dry at the time. I will replace the servo for him, but not if the problem is unrelated to what I did.
