Hi gang,

I need some help on this.. I have an old savage 25 that I have been running. The truck is mostly stock with just a few mods, RRP spear gear, hot bodies shocks and hpi pipe. The problem I'm having is I striped three rear diff units in a matter of one tank of fuel. I have a rebuild kit but I'v been buying the whole unit to play it safe @33.99 a piece. Any thoughts I why this is happening? also i'm not sure if this is something to consider but the track i run at is very dry, dusty and lose dirt. This is the reason I run the 25 and not my x.

thanks for your help

yeah def shim them up. as you can see if youve taken them down the thick green diff grease. soak the gears in some gumout for 10 mins and fill the diff cups with 7000 wt for the front and 5000 wt diff oil in the rear. you want those gears to mesh well and have basically zero play in the outdrive shafts

Mike if you buy diffs again check out this link....

You will have to buy the "X" joint post, here is a link for it also and a bumper set.

One bumper set will have you set for the front and rear if you replace both diffs with the easy access. Just a thought if you replace them again....
