I installed this chassis right after Xmas when i got it, and for the 1st time i ran it last night at the track. The motor was running hot and stalling quiet a bit and i was at a stump litterly until tonight.....

I started cleaning the beast up and discovered that the damn XL dogbone was binding pretty badly with the alloy brace that is mounted right under the engine plate. Is this a common problem for this Chassis??

now i have to tear the rear end apart and with a dremel knock off some material to allow space for the dogbone to travel, which isnt too much but just enough to bind. this i find frustrating!

rant over.

the motor pate brace should hav a section machined out of it to clear the og bone if it doesnt then you need to machine some out of the center to clear the dog bone .

What engine plate are you using and which brace is having the clearance problem?? I did the HPI XL Chassis conversion using the braces from my X to the XL motor plate and there were no problems with clearance and didn't need to grind anything with the extended chassis. Check to see if something is bent.

with this chassis being more of a COG then the S25 that was previously installed, i think it was the brace i had installed. The angle of the dogbone changed when i installed this TVP on the truck. There is no half-moon cut into the alloy brace, so ill have to dremel that out later tonight when i get time. I have so many projects in the undertaking I'm amazed i get anything done. Right after work i am going to a buddies place to weld/Fab up a 3" downpipe for the Skyline, then when i get home and the kids go to sleep its back down here to work on this savage. Then if i have time i need to start prepping the SCX10 for the new Toyota body ,+ more RC stuff sitting on the waiting list.

arggh....i need a magic time-decelerator or some crap? haha

thanks, ill just cut a section into the brace.

yeah there should be a half moon cut out of it like you said. sounds like you have an aluminum brace for the skid plates instead of the engine plate brace. Little grinding on that brace will not hurt. Good luck
