pressure washing

Hey can I get some advice on weather to do this or not my savage is rather sh*try in bits I can reach and I'm being to lazy to strip the savage down so I'm wondering if I cover the air filter and cylinder head can I pressure Wash the rest of it? Or would the pressure be to much

@clabby, if it was me I wouldn't use a power washer on it. Really you don't need to strip the Savage truck down either to clean it really well. When I want a good clean on my RC's I typically use a 50/50 mix of water and Simple Green solution. Spay it down really well and let sit for a few minutes, then rinse off with water.

For a deeper clean use an old toothbrush and some rags to clean after the simple green solution has set for a few minutes then rinse. Works great and doesn't hurt the RC. Just make sure you don't spray the cleaner or water in your electronics or engine and you'll be good to go.

Over here in the UK I believe that will be similar to muck off or TFR. I have both of them so shall try that thank you for the reply saves potentially damaging me truck its cost almost as much as me kids to keep and look after lol

Make sure you cover up the air filter anyway if your going to hit it with a low pressure hose. No point in getting it all wet. Cylinder head doesn't matter if your glowplug is in it. I usually hit mine with a hose from end to end once in a while. Then I hit all the cv joints with wax chain lube and the servos/carb with canned air so there isn't standing water on them.

I also put my receiver pack and receiver in a ziptied balloon and run waterproof servos. I run in winter/wet conditions frequent enough that it warrants the extra cost of the servos and time to balloon things.

If you don't have waterproof servos, be very careful around them as it only takes a drop or two to seep in and ruin them.
