Do yourself a favor and get the X style RX box. I've never dealt with the old style and never will! If you do have the X style, make sure all the wires are not getting pinched under the lid.

I may be the only idiot to say this but:
Actually, I kind of didnt mind the old style box on my racer, its now removed due to mid tank but it actually had more room and much harder to get the wires between the box as there was more room in there. The X box is very cramped but is easier to open however the old box really isnt to bad if you use large light gaged hood pins.

What kind of battery pack are you using? It might be hitting the underside of the cover. I had to snip off the two plastic pieces that were on the underside to get mine to fit.

The trick is to get the front inside the little groove it goes into first. before you try and close the cover. Also the servo wires touch the top of the case. So you need to make sure they are laying next to eachother not over the top of another one. It is a tight fit.

sorry for the late response. I have the 4.6 x, so I guess my box type is the x. I have got it on once now but it was hard. I am using the aa batt box that came with it right now.

check the wires, and make sure it sits all the way into the front of the box before trying to close it. There is a hinge in the front if its not all the way in it wont close

Get a flashlight to look inside it as its closing. You will be able to see what its hitting.

You can put your battery in a Rush battery box and the reciever can sit where the battery goes.

I did not trim any plastic nubs...not sure what you are talking about. What am i looking for?
