On Board Temp Gauge

hey guys, wondering if you all use on board temp gauges or temp guns to monitor your engine temps and what is better? also if i go with an on board temp gauge which ones work with spektrum receivers? I'm eventually going to get the spektrum telemetry setup but untill then looking for a simple on board gauge, any reccommendations?

I have used the 'on board type' but it didn't last long .. with pulling the engine all the time and cleaning the truck .. and some hard landings it broke quickly

Temp gun all the way. Than it doesn't get beat to snot when your bashing your truck.

on board temp guages arent very dependable i tried one and the temp readings were way off compared to a temp gun!!
