Hi,

I received one of the transceivers today and hav been working on installing it in my truck.

I found that it fits fine without any servos or power connectors installed, pluging in the electronics made all the difference there iwas no way to jam it in there.

first I thought about soldering the wires directly to the transceiver, but I was afraid it still may not fit and or cause too much strain on the wires.

This is what I decided to do after trying to heat the plastic and push it out to make a bit more room it did not work well either.

What I have ended up doing so far is cutting out a section of the radio cover (I will add a pic) I am looking for ideas of what to use to cover this area, I plan on using something plastic and epoxying it on.

Does anyone have any ideas? does anyone know of any after market radio covers that are a bit taller?

You will se in the second pic there is another problem, the antenna cable will not fit, I will just drill out an area from the side for this to fit in.

When I do the second one I will not cut off so much of the top I just couldn't see what was where inside and I started in the wrong place. I will document and take some photo on the next one when I know more what I am doing.

I just learned the hard way this mod is not nessessary. there are 2 versions of the tramnsceiver, v1 and v2, the v2 transceivers are smaller and fit erfectly in the savage x radio box. I just found another ver 2 and radio cover for my 2nd truck...

So make sure if you buy one used that it's a v2.
