i just put in a (hr hot racing ) spur for my savage X it is a (49)i had 47 everything is stock except my 49 spur gear its to big help me please??

how many teeth on the clutch bell? you probably have to go a couple of teeth down on the bell to get the 49 to fit

What Savage do you have? Regardless you should be able to go to a 49 with no problems. You have loosened the motor right?

I have had a motor cant remember which one but was running a 17/49 and the motor wouldn't' scoot toward the TVPs any further because the Back plate was to large and was hitting them. The 17/49 worked but it was at far toward the TVPs as it could go.

Yep, you're correct. You'll be maxing it out, but it will fit. I ran it until I got a 16 cb. Gave it little room.

Ok Ok I Have A Stock Savage X 4.6 I Just Put In A 3 Speed Um The Clutch Is Stock I don't No What I Have I Moved It Out *** Far *** I Can The Gears Still Hit There Tight........

the stock CB is a 17t. A 17/49 combo is tight, and there is not a whole lot of room left. If its very tight in there, check and make sure your engine plate is not bent.

ok ok i went to my LHS and of course no room i need to go down 1 size on my clutch CB so what i did is i got the stock plastic 47 and it works fine i ran it yesturday night thx for help though u no i think u guys are right though it should mesh with 49/17
