ok first off i'm new here to your fourm. so here i go this winter i will be building a savy x ss kit. my question is this which motor? i have a axial .28 spec 1 in my 21 savy which has most of the x updates. i'm leaning towards the savy x 4.6 kit just to have a spare motor for less then $50 more then the x ss roller. every fourm i have been to seems to have their fav for motors. ok guys and gals hit me with your ideas. i'm leaning towards the os .30, the lrp .28 and the axial .32. so whats your thoughts ? i have a mental block against the sts .28 due to the extended breakin. anything thats not ready to go after a gallon i don't know. fill me in on your thoughts and opinons.
thanx, mike

I don't think the sts.28 has the crazy break in .....

But any of thoes engine you named would be great . if I had to pick one the LRP would be the one

ok,jester i read after a gal of fuel people are just starting to lean out their sts. and chris420 i have a spec1 .28 i hate to double up on anything unless it's the best i have seen. i'm looking for good input, on options like i said every fourm has their preferances. i want to know what you think. thanx mike

I have had the sts .30 that engine take over a gallon of break in (CRAZY FAST THO) thats a major turn off for me ... and I wont be getting another one .. just for that point.

But IMO the LPR is a good strong engine that performs well (never ran it ) seen it ran and it's a damn good engine holds a tune and runs nice a cool .. can't comment on the axial . but I have too seen one run (The .28) its a good mill also . I do have and run the surefire .32 its a really good low end power motor and will run all day long w/o any problems ..

I guess it just boils down to how fat your wallet is and what kind of power your looking for Mike

chris420 i would be leaning towards the .32 over the .28. jester a gallon of fuel is also a turn off to me! as far as my wallet i don't want to spend as much for the engine as the kit. i'm looking to spend about a grand on my next basher. the only parts i already have are the jr marked spektrum servos. the high torque will be brake throttle the standred will be reverse. thats all i am sure about at this time. thanx for talkin' to a noob.

cmon, welcome to the most expensive hobby next to guns! i haven't bought a new pistol in a year. the last was a kimber .45 ultra compact that went through kimbers pro shop. momma didn't ***** about that $1200. oh thank god. maybe i will get this new savy under her nose too. we will see gota try. if it turns into a fight it's still less then a weeks pay. cmon wedding rings r supposed to be three mos salary. at least thats going to be my arguement! wish me luck if it goes to that lol

my choice would be the axial rr spec 1

And as far as the wife, I never pay with credit cards unless I want her to know. lol

and never say you bought new truck, just a new body. lol

If you are willing to do the whole one gallon break-in, get a STS .30. If not, then get an axial. I run the .28 and I like it alot. You may want to replace the Axail's o-rings on the carb though. Just because you already have an Axial doesn't mean you shouldn't get another. If you are happy with the first, you'll probably be happy with the second.

oh my god crash we must be brothers from another mother.........lol your right what she don't know after 10 years won't hurt her. fxstrongside i like my lil .28 axial spec 1 don't get me wrong. the whole point of this build is to try something else. i will prob build this x with 21 lowers so i could do the "lst" shock mod. my current savy has american cnc upper and lower alloy arms that because of the second drill hole wont work. so i will order a spare front set. i have yet to break a rear. i want ready to bash no d!ckin around truck. i am a heavy equipment journeyman operator so boys be jealous.. every where i work is a place to bash.
sorry didn't mean too be cocky, just the truth.

Sweet job make your own bashspot daily I am jealous. I have two axials and Ilove them but its the only motors i've had besides the stocks and a dynamite 26 which is a good motor and super easy to tune. I agree with the wife thing the old Cop didn't see it I didn't do it! Also Welcome to hpisf.

thank you sami, my foreman always knows when i have my savy, or cough cough revo with me. when i start making whoop de doos and then sand the tops with a water truck. thats ok though he has a hellfire and another guy on the crew has a raze
