ok guys i need to buy new shocks for my savage X. I currently have aluminum shocks but they leak big time and they are 2 years old. i got them for about $60 which gives you an idea of why they are leaking. I need to buy a decent set of aluminum shocks for my truck. I am thinking about the aluminum threaded hpi shocks which go for about $120. I am also thinking about the better ones with heat sinks integy shocks which go for a little more about $150.

What are your ideas people, any help is appreciated.

the hpi big bores are great. alot have used lst shocks too which are threaded. i have the lst's on my truck now but have yet to run them so i cant tell you how they run. i'm sure someone else can though.

thanks for all the help guys but these shocks aren't threaded. I prefer the threaded ones... I wanna get LST shocks but I can't seem to find anyone who has tried them.

I know but I think I'm just gonna buy a good set which would last a lot longer and have much better performance. I'm stm debating which I should buy.

the threaded shocks from hpi are good but they don't take to well to hard bashing. they like to bend shafts when beat hard. the big bonus with the hpi shock is the stock parts all fit

alright i think i made up my mind... big bored i think are gonna sit in my savage. I'm planning to get them tomorrow.

how much should i expect to pay for the big bores???

i think I'm gonna go with the aluminum ones....they cost $108 + tax. Comes out to be about $122 total. Give or take 5-10 which is the ebay price so theres not much of a difference.

i think I'm gonna get them tomorrow..

It's $80usd and i'm paying in Canadian dollars so add 20% and the shopping cost is goi g to be double the one shown at least making it about $12usd because I live in Canada.

73 + 12 is 85 X 20% = about 100 that makes the store here 20 bucks more expensive and I have to wait 2 weeks to get it from eBay as opposed to the store I get it on the spot

i've have big bores on my savage and damn are they tough! I bent one shaft so far but i ran into a bull skull on the side of the local track to do it !!(it's actually way off the track up on a bank!!) i'm more of a basher than a racer!!!

I have a Savage 4.6 SS and looking for new shocks. Thinking of getting the HPI big bore shocks. Will 1 shock on each wheel handle the weight of my savage or will 2 per whell be over kill?
