Hey Y'all, I just wanted to first say, man u guys have some sweet rides on this forum :jumpers:

I have a Hitec 645MG that I just got. So when I toke my Savage X 4.6 out to play. It was fine for like 2 mins, then it started turning to the right and wouldn't turn back. Even if I turned the steering knob all the way to the left.
So I looked at the servo, and the screw was loose, I think I didn't tighten it hard enough (didn't want to bind the servo up).

So then it started working again, so I thought:smilie8:
Like 3-5 minutes later it started veering to the right again, and wouldn't turn left at all (wouldn't even budge left) so I looked at the servo again, and the screw was tight this time. So I unscrewed it and rearranged it so the wheels were straight again. But it did it again so I gave up for the day.

My batteries were 3/4 full when I came home and checked.

Has anyone had this problem, or knows what to do. I would greatly appreciate it for anyone's help.

Thx for ur time,
Greg A.K.A. White Wolf

did the horn strip out ? When they get loose and move you can take out the plastic teeth in the arm (horn). Also did you change the horn to the hitec spline.

I used the same horn that my steering servo had, but I used a brand new one.
What is the spline?

thats your problem right there bud. use 1 of the servo horns that came in the box when you bought the 645mg servo.

all servo manufacturers have a different "tooth count" if you will on the servo spline so you need to use the servo horn specific to that servo.

& you can tighten down that screw pretty good without issue.

stock horn has 25 teeth. hi tech has 24. there should be a 24 tooth horn with spare pieces that came with your truck

Thx for the help guys!!!!

I will check out the tooth count and look at the servo better Sunday.

Thx again,
Greg (White Wolf)

Yup it was the wrong horn. I used the original horn. So when I changed it to the hitec horn, the problem went away.

The reason I didn't change the horn, is I thought the hitec horn looked cheap, and that it would break. But it has held up for 4 tanks so far

Thx so much for the help guys!!!!

Thx Greg
