Question, I have been going through the threads on here trying to figure out what are the 'fixes' I have to do before I take my Savage 4.6 out for the first time. From what I have read it seems shimming the spur gear is a must. Any other issues I shouyld address?? Thanks for the help.

The truck is very stable and sound from the start. It is suggested to shim the diffs which will help them last much longer.

Some other great starters are a Hump pack for the truck. Steering bearings in the steering post and a Tuned pipe. Also a stronger steering servo is a great addition. These few things will make the truck take what you will throw at it and give you a little better handling.

Also, welcome aboard we are glad to have ya part of the great forum.

congrats on finding hpisf & on your savage sinister, welcome. I didnt do any 'fixes' to my Sav X rtr until about a 1/2 gallon. just ran it, learned about it from the forum & running it.

then met peeps here, learned about mods & went from there. is this your first Savage? first r/c?

actually have been in the hobby for a long time. Have had only one previous MT The original T-Maxx. Bashed it quite hard and replaced a crap load of parts, but man was it a blast. I was racing my TC (T2 007) but got to expensive and kind of took the fun out of the hobby. MT's is where it's at!!

But I plan on driving it first then making the necessary mods.

welcome youll find alot of useful inho any q's fell free to ask away! Definatly a better steering servo is in order but take the stock steering servo and swap the throttle one out and put the bellcrankbearings in while you have it out. thats the one mod youll really need!
