I just got and installed this new assembled 3 speed for my savage. I have a Picco 26 with a 13T bell, 47T spur. After I installed it I took it out for a run. After a few blast up and down my paved street, I notice there is a clicking sound coming from the trans when moving backwards, and sometimes forward, with the motor off. It dosent make any noise or anything when driving, just when moved the drivetrain has a sort of poping. Just looking for an idea before I pull this all back apart again.

I don't think its my brake , I thought it was that at first. When you roll the truck you can feel it sort of tighten before the pop/click. And its not always, if I roll it forward then back it will go away, but then do it again and its back. I am going to tear it down anyway to change the 1 to 2nd shift.

I agree with Site. I had the same problem with mine. I have a STS D28M and was running a 47tspur/14tclutch combo. With the gear mesh set perfect, the clutch bell rubs up against the brake disk. I am also running the duel disk brake setup from HPI. You might wanna check that too. Just some input from one of my problems.

I just bought another used savage X, and I notice it also has the same issue. I notice it more when turning on my new one. It deff is coming from some sort of metal hanging on metal. I'm thinking it can just be worn cups.
