Hey guys,

I am sorry if they has been ask many times, it's just that the more I research the more I get confused on radios/receivers.

Well I am looking for a new Radio and Receiver. I am wanting to get rid of the whole crystal thing and not have to worry about other people. All I need it for is to control my throttle and steering, nothing else. I also have no preference in brand, but I would like a reliable one. I also don't need the servo's that come with most of them, but will take them if that remote is the best option.

I have been looking at the Spektrum DX2.0 and the Futaba 3PM. Will this do everything I said. I don't need no super remote, just one that doesn't use crystals and is reliable.

Thanks for any help, and if I missed anything let me know.

Sorry I forgot to mention. I can get the 3PM for the same price as the DX2.0. So would you still get the Spekturm over the 3PM.

Is there any flaws in the 3PM that would make you say I am not getting it. Same question for the DX2.0.

Spektrum has a special going right now that you can get an extra receiver free. I'm not sure of the details but if you want to use the radio on your other trucks that might be a selling point. I'm using the Dx3.0 and it works great.

I run all Futaba 3PMs both the FM and the FASST, and have had no issues with them as far as range and such goes. The only issue I even had with the FASST radio is one of the trim buttons would stick, but after a quick opening of the radio and reseating the button it works again. I may have even done something to cause that issue though. I personally went with the Futaba for the 3rd channel. Even if you don't need it know you never know when you may end up with a reason to use it such as another truck.

Thanks for the info guys. It sounds like I can't really make a mistake with either. I will most likely make my decision at the hobby store. What will most likely be the deciding factor is if I have a better chance for either getting another truck, or getting a use for the third channel.

Thanks again
Shawn

Well I went for the Spektrum. I was wondering does this free receiver deal apply to Canada too. Or is it just the States?

personally i know alot of poele with the jr raceing outfitted to their trucks all of the highoctang trucks are running jr or spectrum stuff so ill swear by it

I know 2.4 is the new rage, but if you just want to get away from crystals you can get a JRxs3 with receiver for around $70 on ebay. Hopmeup has the XS3 pro with rs310 r/x and two servos for $120.
