I am in need of a little guidance. I have a fairly stock savage X SS and I am in the process of collecting parts for my diff build as I have trashed the current ones in the truck.
Right now I am getting the HPI BP Gears but I am not sure where to go from there. Should I upgrade the spider gears to hardened ones? also I have done some searching and everyone seems to like the Nova diff cups since it allows the use of the 8mm bearing. The problem is I cannot seem to find them listed anywhere for purchase. Can someone point me in the direction as to where I can buy them?
So in summary I think I need guidance on the following
1- Should I upgrade the spider gears to hardened?
2- Where can I find the Nova cups and will I need to modify anything to use them?
3- What shims will be needed if I use the Nova cups?
4-Is there anything else I need to make these diffs truly bullet proof??
