my third 3spd tranny stripping spur gear

i have had 3 - 3 spd trannys in 3 different savages and on all 3 i have had problems w/ the spur gear running wobbly on the shaft that it is attached to that comes off of the tranny. when i pulled the spur gear off of all 3 trannys and spin the shaft it is wobbly. anyone else ever seen this? all of the trannys where brand new when i noticed this. on all of the 2 spd trannys i had they would spin perfect. so every great once in awhile i can get the spur gear set where it works for awhile, but more often then not i'm in a hobby shop buying spur gears. any ideas? in the mean time i guess i'll be running my 2spd.

get a HD spur and don't worry about it

both composites ive had wobbled (2 & 3 speed) they just do that its not a problem

+1, mine does that too, but I have the steel spur and have had no issues.

plastic spur on my 3spd with no issues.. maybe shim your tranny

none of my 2spds do that ican tell if they do its very minimal. i'll get the hd spur gear and try that.
