SavyScott: The shocks are by Hot Racing made for the Hellfire. I like the way they a built and the perform really well.

J1A1H as for the upper arms I just replaced the ones that come with the RSC with Lunsford titanum ones. Same concept as the kit intended so they should do just fine. The GH Steering is well made and for the price (I paid $11.00 on the bay) why not.

in the next pics I post you wil see that I installed a Fioroni "Vario" Air Flow clutch http://www.fioroni-usa.com/productsvario.html scroll to the bottom of the page to see. It is really light weight and looks to be well made. As for weather it will be any better than any other clutch, prob not, but I needed a clutch so I got it. I am starting out with 47/13 on the gearing but am not sure with the tranny locked into second having used the high speed flux gear i'm not to sure how that is gonna work out.

I am still pondering the electronics, but I have an idea and I may as well toss it out there and see if any 1 has any comments. I am thinking of using either a LiFe or a LiPo battery to power the truck in place of the normal hump pack. the radio is a Spektrum DX3s.
I am thinking of placing the battery inbetween the engine and the shocktower. kinda like this.

I figure I could use 2 braces and a plate and mount the battery up on that.
Well thats it for now, let me know if you have a better idea.

How much is the Fioroni Vario clutch set up ??

Xll They are like $74.95...I got mine on E-Bay with an offer of 65 and he took it.

Just wondering where you get your shock rod aluminium ends? I keep snapping mine on big landings so this could help
 
very nice buld. If you put a LiPo battery inbetween the engine and the shocktower just watch the heat from the pipe
 
The Shocks are made by Hot Racing out of Tempe Az...I bought them 2yrs ago or there bouts. they come as you see them on the truck. I paid around $60 for all 4.
 
I was just tinkering with the truck before work and ran across this and was just wondering....measuring from the axles front to back I am 15 inches...and from side to side I am 16 inches...does it mater that the stance is wider than it is long??? How will this affect the driveablity of the truck? or is it a non issue.

i say run it and find out. my guess (after watchin' you build her)that it will work fine & be about the baddest r/c truck you've ever run.

I don't think it will matter that much the woder your car is the harder for it to roll over =)
 
It can effect your handling characteristics but I wouldn't worry about it unless your a serious racer, or you don't like the way your truck drives now! If you like the way it drives, then just drive it!
 
I started breakin of the picco this week. 3 tanks so far. Think I am gonna have to learn how to tune this thing. I see a monster hiding in there somewhere, he pokes his head out every time my finger gets twitchy. Self control is my worst enemy right now. I just keep wanting to grab a handful of throttle and see what happens.

Savageboi: The Body is a Slash body it came pre striped so I didn't have all that much to do to get it painted up. Just a matter of painting it and backing it to get the color change.

JoeGuam: I have to replace the pullstart that I broke today..but after that is done I will work on finding a means to get vid.
The wide stance turned out to be a non issue, this thing really stays planted to the ground and the steering is great, no matter how sharp i turn I have not been able to roll this thing over.
Seems like it starts to gurgle at about half throttle, but I have not tried to tune it yet. Not sure what I think about the 47/13 gearing seems to have nice punch and steady pick up, but with the engine only at 3 tanks I have not tried to give it any full throttle passes. No major issues with the way it was put together to this pointeverything seems to be holding together well. I have to admit that this truck is a world apart from what I though a savage was when I was running my .25 SS 3 yrs ago.
That thing was a Mini Van...This thing is a High end Sports Car...And it all started with a google search that lead me to this forum. Amazing what you can find surfing the web.
Now what to do with these new flm tvps...Hmmm
 
Well the pull start was not the problem. It was inside the motor. Nothing broken or needed to be replaced just sorta came mis aligned somehow, but it's all good now. As for the 47/13 combo, it works...it flat @@@ works with the 2 speed modded with the 39 tooth flux idler gear man it runs...not the combo you want if you are into wheelies but if you wanna grab and go...it will.
On a down note my stear servo does not like the volts below 5.2...seems to love everything above that, but with 5.2 man there is still plenty of batt left...and the truck still has fuel "TURN U JACK*&$" but even with all the adult content I gave it the servo didn't listen.
gonna have to work that issue out somehow. 4 1/2 tanks and this mill woke up today in a big way...Time to start serching to threads on tuning so i can see what happens next...
Man my face hurts from smiling!!!
 
A 6 volt battery is considered dead at 6 volts. All my batts are like that.

I was wondering if you could let us know how that clutch is working for you, and if you like it way better than the stock setup with 1.0 springs and max life shoes?
