As posted in a previous thread. I finished the breakin on my new Axial.28 and it has so much more power than my HPI .25 and I think that is where the problem is. It was not much of a problem during breaking b/c of the low RPMs, but under full throttlye (5th tank) You can hear a loud clicking-skipping in the rear diff box. Has anyone experienced this ? My rear diff probably has about 5-6 gallons through it. Any reccomendations on a stronger diff ? Any links would be helpful.

Thanks again guys and I look forward to a response.

P.S Take the spur gear off or Follow all HPI 4.6 breakin procedures for axial .28's. You will melt spur gear after spur gear by letting it idle for 2 full tanks !

The Axial .28 and the HPI 4.6 are produced from the same maker.

Hey red,
sounds like your mesh is set to tight, your spur should not have melted.
Yes, also sounds like your diff. are tore up.
look into the cen. conversion here. I have heard good tings about them. Much beefier gears.
good luck bud.

I knew I could count count on you Crash ! I am actually really good at the spur /clutch meshing and I can not figure out why people have problems with it, but I always ALWAYS keep an extra spur around. Do you have a link to the diffs you speak so highly of ?

P.S spent about $270 at leisure hours friday !

We have all bought our trucks over and over.
