I Have A Savage 21 With Original Motor And It Has A High Performance Pipe. How Can I Make It Go Faster Without A Bigger Motor.

maybe changing the gearing would give you a bit more speed, and maybe the 3 speed I'm not sure, anyway i wanted to take a moment to welcome u to the forum!!!

Three speed (you can even get a higher speed third gear!)

My reasons for this are that it shouldn't place a considerable more load on the engine and clutch in the same way as changing clutch bell/spur gear would, as 1st is a shorter (read slower) ratio vs the 2-speed box and third is a bit taller (read faster) if it was a bigger mill, I'd say go with the cb/spur, but hearing a radio-controlled car change gear twice as it accellerates is pretty damn cool!

My 2c

EDIT: Alternatively, as you don't say what pipe you're running, get a pipe designed for rpm not torque or a compromise, as this should be able to allow the engine to reach higher rpms.

there's the 3 speed and a 3 speed high gear made by HPI. Plus everything said below. Be sure to keep the savage on a diet.

i agree with darkshine 3spd and i went up two teeth on my cb 19/47 stock spur.

I agree with everyone but this. that gearing will not work on a .21 mill. With the diet hops talking about rim tire combo's come into play too. Bead locks and big tires will bog you down.. tell us more of your set up!

thanks for everyones advise

i bought the 3 speed upgrade and put in but now i found 2 broken shocks and i am waiting on them to come in.

welcomee to the forum! 15/49 combo should be good for the 21 engine it should be able to turn more rpms due to the smaller bore size. the 3spd should give u what ur looking for.keep a good supply of shock parts on hand you will use them alot!
