Well I recently posted a thread about 40 series molded foams. No one had any input or insight, so I went and bought a set to try for myself.

Here's what I got, a set of green mt molded foams from panther rc. Now on their website there was no description of them, and I don't think they even produce them anymore.

The wheels I put the foams are axial beadlocks, these are not your normal foams, I could not install them and the tire at the same time, impossible. So I installed the foams onto the wheels first, and even that was a challenge. These foams fit so snug, it almost becomes part of the wheel.

Next were installing the proline 40 series mashers, these went on much easier than the foams.

Now for the test! Initially I was a little concerned as there is about a 1/2" of space between the tire and foam, this actually is a good thing as I found out in todays run. The tires really hook up now, where as before I would hit the throttle and the wheels just spun.

The only down fall I came across was low speed turns, the tires really grab, and the servo struggles to turn them, if at all. You need a good speed to turn well, dry steering forget it.

All in all I was impressed that the tires work that much better with the molded foams, when on the ground the tire flattens enough to make really good contact on the whole surface of the tire, as with the stock foams the tires are always pushed outward which I found only part of the tread pattern was making contact to the ground, resulting in wheels spinning on asphalt.
