k, well i have a question.
i recently upgraded to the dual metal braking system.
(#87150)

it just seems to be rubbing on the clutch bell.
not sure if others have experienced this too

i have just a bone stock savage X

CLUTCH BELL? You must have mounted it in wrong spot don't know how you did it but if you could send a pic I'll try and help you.

Yes I have had this too with the duals. I hated them-tried everything to keep it from happening with no luck. I went red/fiber single-mucho better performance and no prob on bell.

sorry don't have a camera at this time.

i mean i mounted the brakes correctly, they just seem a little too big.
are they slightly bigger then the stock fiberglass ones?

Well I know for sure that my IRC plate was OK at the time but cblock you should check yours if it's still stock (good call Bank).
I will say that I have shimmed my bell forward a bit for better spur mesh and I'm sure that didn't help matters with the duals.

hmmm well that sucks.

was looking forward to some good stopies

oh well.

ill try them for a bit and see. bugs me i spent the money on them though.

they will give you stoppies, but do it a few times and the pads rip off and then give you nothing... thats what I did not like about them. I do still run a set but I made fiberglass pads for them

ya i haven't heard alot of good things about the steel brakes, some have said they like them but most don't like them at all.. ive heard nothing but good things about the red fiber ones though......

yes i agree with post above... ofna linkage mod and a good hump pack will stop ya on a dime!! lol

I have never had a problem with the stainless dual set up , i sand the brake ( calipers ) then ca the pads , i can stop on a dime & give ya 9 cents change lol~
SL.

I didnt take many but here... Didn't have my nikon D60 yet so the pics SUCK

This pic is... Top how they fail. Mid what I made, and the steel plate on bottom:

i did the same using a circuit board but it didnt last long enough

ended up cutting down real brake pads from a sports car with metal inlaid

didnt have any problem after that even added a third metal brake disk

still after getting the savage xl with the red fiber disks i have found out they are much better choice
