Messy Exhaust!!!

Hi guys I have had my Savage X for nearly 8 months, I wish I had found this place sooner. I have an OS 30vg, which is like strapping a rocket on a skateboard. My problem is that I race on-road at my local track. Using 40 series road rages and have the chassis lowered to just about a ¼ inch off the ground where in lies my problem. By the time I get done with the qualifiers the side bottom the entire rear is dirty my right rear wheel gets slick from the oil, just a mess. And yes I have tried deflectors which get yanked off by the track or other trucks. I have heard horror stories with rear exhaust. Have been thinking of connecting some tubing to the exhaust tip and running it out the back of the truck. Have also thought about mounting the pipe in the back. Has anyone done any type of mod like this? And what would be the effect of using copper pipe to move the exhaust to a better location? Thanks for any help in advance!!!

i put super glue on my deflector and it stays on very well,keeps the truck much cleaner,but i still get oil on the rear tire. good luck

Some of us have tried copper tubing. It has been my experience that after too many hard hits, they usually end up coming apart at the joints (soldered together). If you don't take too many hard hits being a road racer, it should hold up fine.

I have used some tubing before.....it worked for me for a little while but because it was plastic it melted/cracked after a few runs.........worked good till that point
