Is there an upgraded spur for the savage x 4.6? I htough i herad of someone saying the are using an old savage slipper. Is it better? What do i need to do it? I have a racer's edge .32 in it with a ribbed pipe and melted the slipper on it. I also have a set of ofna gold springs to put in it. I tried to put them in but the springs didn't line up with the groove on the nut so i quess there is a shine kit for it? What shoes should i be running? What difference will it have between these and the stock ones?

Two types of spurs- X has a dual slipper and old Savy has a single slipper and that is what most run with the nut tightened all the way down. Some back it off a little, some don't. Your X manual should show both types. If not there is a thread for manuals here. Sticky I think?
Are you melting in the area of the slipper pad or at C/B and spur teeth?
If you want to run those type of springs you should run alloy shoes and a different pilot nut as well. Difference is better bite and no slipping and you will also see that you will have to give it a little more gas to get it moving from a dead stop but from then on they really work well.

Oh and welcome to the forum!

The slipper pad itself is melted and behind it also (set to lose). It has a spur part #76937, i have a spur #77094. The 76937 is thicker, can i just shimm it up? I think it should work. On HPI's site it says it is optional. It dosen't say anything about other parts needed to use it.
